JAMB UPDATE 2019/2020 - All JAMB candidates must read this if they want to gain admission

We will like to inform all 2019/2020 JAMB applicants that only candidates who made their O’ level and A’ level papers and other requirements as stated by the institution of their choice would be given admission into the school.

The official cut-off mark set by JAMB is 150 for universities, 120 for polytechnics, and 100 for colleges of education.

Do not hold this as a fact because, though the marks have been set by JAMB many schools has refused to accept the marks. Schools such as University of Benin, University of Ibadan and many others placed their own cut-offs at 200, if you want to enter such schools, be ready to score above 200 in your JAMB UTME Exam.

All this was made known by the ‎JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, during a Training and Sensitization Forum on Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for admission offers, candidates and stakeholders on in Abuja.

The Professor went further to say that-
Scoring higher than the cut-off mark does not guarantee admission but makes the candidate eligible for admission consideration. It is not UTME that qualifies the person. It is O level, A level that qualifies a person for admission.

“That is why you can go from here to UK, you can go to Ghana, Uganda, Republic of Benin, nobody ask you of your UTME, they ask for your O level because by law it is the school certificate that qualifies you not JAMB,” he said.

He also warned that JAMB will not tolerate illegal admissions by any higher institution.
Ensure that the admission you get is not an illegal one, if you are admitted illegally you would not be regularized, meaning you were never a student even when you have done and met all other conditions.

“We know that we have abused the process. What we have been doing is to send N5,000 each to JAMB in the name of regularization without capturing their picture, without capturing anything. You pay N5,000 and then they are regularized.
